Steve Leonard retires from role as Director of SCDF

Saints Community Development Foundation today announces that Director Steve Leonard has stepped down from his role and retired, ending a distinguished period of service marked by dedication to both player development and community impact.

During his time with both Club and the Foundation, Steve has played a vital role in nurturing young talent, supporting pathways that have helped aspiring players progress from hopeful beginnings into first-team professionals, with some going on to achieve international honours.

Reflecting on his career, Steve said: “I have had the pleasure of seeing young hopeful players develop into first team players and some into internationals. More importantly I have seen them grow into fine upstanding adults with families of their own, showing all the attributes and standards instilled from their days in our academy and portraying these daily.

“Then in my time with the Foundation, helping to make a difference to so many people within our community will always fill me with pride. Hopefully, things like the Reminisce Café and the Veterans Memorial garden and monument will remind people of my time. Those are just a couple of the things we have now, and it’s thanks to all of you for backing and believing in what we were trying to achieve.”

The Club and the Saints Community Development Foundation would like to place on record their sincere thanks to Steve for his unwavering commitment, passion, and leadership. His contribution to the development of players and his tireless work in strengthening community engagement have made a profound and lasting difference.
