Wheelchair Rugby League

The Saints Community Development Foundation are delighted to announce we will be hosting Wheelchair Rugby League sessions!

We hosted our first ever Wheelchair Rugby League event on Wednesday 5th February at Sutton Leisure Centre.

The sessions have continued on a weekly basis ever since (school holidays aside). People have come along and got to test their Wheelchair Rugby League skills with some of our coaches.

On Sunday 17th August 2025, the Wheelchair team was involved in promoting the launch of the new playing shirt for the Foundation. They got involved in pre-match activities outside the BrewDog Stadium and then got to take to the pitch to showcase the new kit ahead of the game.

In August 2025, the Saints Community Development Foundation released a brand new playing shirt which would be worn by several of our teams, including the Wheelchair side.

As we headed into the 2026 season, our Wheelchair team were added to the Development League, marking their first year of competitive games. Their first competitive game was on Sunday 17th May 2026, a battling defeat to Wigan Warriors A.

On Saturday 6th June 2026, our Wheelchair team recorded their first ever win. They beat Sheffield Eagles A 54-16 at Liverpool John Moores University, in what was a landmark day for our side.

They played three other games in their inaugural season, with victories against Salford RLFC A and a second of the season over Sheffield Eagles A sandwiched between a defeat at Wigan.
