Joe Batchelor visits LDRL Training!

Our LDRL team was treated to a surprise guest as they prepare for their festival in Warrington on Sunday!

On Wednesday, our LDRL team headed down to training and upon arrival were surprised with Saints Number 12 Joe Batchelor coming down to Thatto Heath to take part in the session!

Joe joined in with some warm-up drills, before getting involved with a few games of Tag Rugby with the team, with the team showcasing their skill. Joe stayed after training to speak and meet the team, along with getting a few photos with the team.

We would like to send our biggest thanks to Joe for coming down and joining our LDRL team, it was a great experience for the side!

Our LDRL lead Barry Diggles was full of praise for Joe, stating: “It was lovely of Joe Batchelor to make a surprise visit to training last night, he was absolutely brilliant with the players and joined in with our Tag Rugby and the warm-up session! He is a true ambassador for Rugby League and its family values as well as being a great guy on and off the field.”

Barry also spoke about the LDRL season so far, saying: “It’s been a fantastic season so far with more festivals in 2023, giving the Saints team who has grown in numbers to 40 players more opportunities to showcase what they love doing and that’s playing Rugby. A highlight for us all this season has certainly been the opportunity to play at St James Park during Magic Weekend, which has certainly created memories that everyone involved will remember forever!”

As mentioned earlier, our LDRL team will take to the field in Warrington on Sunday, with a fun, action-planned day of Rugby League ahead for the team, just like they have so far this season, which you can view to the left of the story!
