Saints host the Giants – The Community View

Once again, the Community were hard at work behind the scenes on Sunday afternoon, during the game against Huddersfield Giants at the Totally Wicked Stadium!

Before everything got underway, we went outside to support the Food Pantry, which will be outside the Totally Wicked Stadium for the three remaining regular season home games in 2023.

The SCDF were the main match sponsors for the game against the Giants. With that it meant alongside our normal table in the 1873 lounge, we had a second one in front of the stage.

From 4:00pm, we moved onto the pitch, as the Saints Cheerleaders had their pre-game routine on the pitch.

Club mascot, Boots then began his walk around the stadium to greet and take photos with fans around all four stands.

Shortly before the game got underway, our 2023 Betfred Challenge Cup Champions, St Helens Women, paraded the trophy around the pitch, following Saturday’s 8-22 victory over Leeds Rhinos at Wembley.

Also just before the game kicked off, our A-Star Saints Angels did their dance in the middle of the pitch, in front of a filling crowd at the Totally Wicked Stadium. They then welcomed the teams out to the pitch. We also welcomed some Community Clubs to the pitch to hold up the flags as we waited for the two sides to come out.

At half-time the A-Star Saints Angels performed another routine in the middle of the pitch. That ran alongside our community clubs having the chance to play in front of the East Stand, with some Huddersfield fans in, during the break.

The Angels then headed behind the sticks again, awaiting any second half scores from the Red V, so they could lead the celebrations in front of the famous West Stand.
