The Community View: Saints tussle against Trinity

On Saturday 25th April 2026, we hosted Wakefield Trinity in a clash between two of the top four in the Betfred Super League!

SCDF Point of View

Outside the Stadium

We started our evening outside the Keiron Cunningham statue with our Fanzone. Our Passing Wall was part of our pre-game activities that went on around the ground, with the A Star Saints Angels also coming outside the paint the fans faces with Red V’s prior to kick off.

Boots also headed out to meet some fans outside the South Stand, before heading around to the Fanzone to get involved with some of the pre-match activities.

Inside the Stadium

Our Behind the Redvee guests were already inside the ground, meeting players as they headed into the BrewDog Stadium prior to kick off.

Boots began his lap around the stadium to meet and take photos with fans in the ground prior to the game getting underway.

The Cheer & Dance teams then had a big mass dance in the middle of the stadium, showcasing the routine they have learned over the past few weeks. The A Star Saints Angels then performed their pre-game routine shortly after in front of the West Stand.

Children from our local Community Clubs then headed out with the flags of the two teams to wave prior to kick off. We also had flags waved around the perimeter of the pitch as we waited for the two teams to come onto the pitch. The A Star Saints Angels performed their usual Guard of Honour, as both teams came out onto the pitch with the game about to get underway.

During Half-Time

During the break, we had lots of Community Clubs getting involved with some half-time games across the pitch at the BrewDog Stadium.

The A Star Saints Angels then performed their final routine in the middle of the pitch before heading back towards the tunnel to welcome both teams back to the pitch.

Match Report

It was a tale of two halves at the BrewDog Stadium. First half tries from Owen Dagnall, Kyle Feldt and Tristan Sailor, with two converted by Jackson Hastings, gave Saints a 16-0 lead at the break.

Tyson Smoothy and Caius Faatili, both converted by Jack Sinfield, scored second half tries for the visitors. A Hastings penalty was the Red V’s only points of the second half, as the hosts won 18-12.
