Dave and Bernie’s fundraiser for Saints Community Development Foundation

Dave Swift, a member of our Veterans of the Foundation team, & Bernie Meehan is taking on a 50-mile challenge!

Dave has previously undertook challenges to raise money for the SCDF, most recently completing a 100 mile walk in 2023, which you can read more about here.

The following is taken from Dave’s Just Giving Page, which will be attached at the bottom of the page were you can donate to support Dave on his challenge.

‘On 28th June 2025, Armed Forces Day will be celebrated in the UK. With this, I and Bernie Meehan will be completing a 50-mile challenge. The 50-mile challenge will be myself who will be walking and Bernie who will be in a wheelchair. I will be pushing Bernie for the full 50 mile. Due to the nature of this challenge and the medical requirements of the team, this challenge will be completed over 2 days. We will finish the walk at the Totally Wicked Stadium for the Saints home fixture Vs Salford Red Devils. This fixture will be the clubs armed forces fixture and see the walk finish here on the date.

We will be raising money for Saints Community Development Foundation for not only their work with Veterans of the Foundation, but all the work they carry out in the community working with vulnerable adults in the town and working with children and young people that face significant barriers in the town. This work ranges from Dementia, Childhood obesity, Mental Health, Social Isolation, Food Poverty and more.’
