Saints Women support SCDF Christmas Appeal
The St Helens Women’s team have also got involved in supporting our SCDF Christmas Appeal this year!
We shared that the First Team had donated gifts towards the Appeal a few days ago, with St Helens Women also generously donating towards the cause.
Captain Jodie Cunningham was joined by Emily Rudge at our partners at Smyths Toys, as they spent time walking around the store finding gifts to donate to children this Winter.
The women’s side donated into a kitty, with the two players then spending time at Smyths Toys to pick the presents themselves for the children to receive in the lead up to and on Christmas Day.
You can see how they got on by watching the video below:
Donations will be sent out across the local community prior to Christmas, once again helping to support the message: “Stronger Community, Brighter Christmas!”
SCDF Foundation Director Steve Leonard said: “On behalf of the Saints Community Development Foundation, I would like to thank everyone at St Helens Women for getting involved in our SCDF Christmas Appeal this year.
“The donations will go a long way to helping support children in the local community so that as many of them as possible can enjoy Christmas!”
Head of Women’s Pathways & Performance Jodie Cunningham added: ““It’s brilliant to be able to contribute as a women’s team to the SCDF’s Christmas Appeal and support families in St Helens with presents for the festive period.
“Myself and Emily Rudge had the privilege of going and buying the toys with the women’s donations and hopefully all the presents will put a smile on a lot of children’s faces on Christmas day.
“Smyths Toy Superstore were fantastic and kindly donated to the appeal themselves so that we can help even more families in the community with the clubs Christmas appeal.”
