SCDF Partner with the Stroke Association

The Saints Community Development Foundation are delighted to announce our new partnership with the Stroke Association!

The two organisations will work together to promote activities to reduce the risk of a stroke and the support available following a stroke.

With our already strong links to the St Helens Public Health Team and activities such as Building Foundations, Young at Heart and Walks to Matches the partnership adds to our Healthy Activity and Prevention programmes.

Steve Leonard (Foundation Director) said: “I’m pleased that we will be using this partnership to work in tandem with the Stroke Association and to reduce the life changing impact of strokes among our community. This is something close to our hearts as sadly we all know of friends, supporters and past players who have had strokes.”

Mike Webster (Mental Health Ambassador): “It’s great to see organisations like the Stroke Association working with the Foundation and this partnership will be a valuable resource for people in St Helens.”

Vicky Thomson added: ‘The Stroke Association are delighted to work in partnership with the Saints Community Development Foundation. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing support for all stroke survivors and their families.

We look forward to connecting with our local community to raise awareness of stroke; recognising symptoms of stroke and the need to Act FAST, Stroke Prevention and to help more people find strength through support.’
