Volunteer Week: Karen Smith
From the 3rd of June to 9th of June it is National Volunteer Week, and SCDF want to shine a light on some of the fantastic volunteers that are helping our community clubs thrive!
Our eighth Spotlight is on Karen Smith. Karen covers multiple roles at Portico Vine ARLFC which includes Club Registration Officer, Vice Chair Communication Officer, Kitchen and Bar and Volunteer Child Welfare. Our spotlights have been provided by a representative of Portico Vine ARLFC and here is what they have to say about Karen:
“Karen has taken on many roles and works hard in every role she has taken on. She has been at our club for over 20 years and has always been a valued member of our club.”
“Karen is invaluable and has ensured every player has had the relevant information to register from seven through to masters.”
“Without Karen, people would not be playing our sport through the registrations and on match day receive after match refreshments.”
At SCDF we recognise how important volunteers are to the running of these programmes and without people like Karen involved clubs would struggle to survive. So from SCDF we say thank you Karen Smith for the impact you are having at Portico Vine ARLFC.
