Volunteer Week: Mark Costello

From the 3rd of June to 9th of June it is National Volunteer Week, and SCDF want to shine a light on some of the fantastic volunteers that are helping our community clubs thrive!

Our eighth Spotlight is on Mark Costello. Mark is coach at Clock Face Miners. Our spotlights have been provided by a representative of Clock Face Miners and here is what they have to say about Mark:

“We are nominating Mark because he is a fabulous coach who doesn’t only coach the open age at a high level (NCL) but also has taken up a coach role with our under 7s team. He is always on hand to help any time with advice and ideas.”

“Mark is approachable, supportive and comes up with fantastic ideas to help teams who might be going through a bad spell or need to improve on a certain area i.e. defensive work.

“Although committed to open age as Head Coach, he has taken all under 7s team for Clock Face Miners and will help support other teams in training. He gives up so much of his free time.

“He has already just coached a team from under 7s to under 18s, and now about to do it again. He is just 40 years of age and to commit again to another 10 years is amazing.”

“Without Mark, the open age team couldn’t go ahead and we probably wouldn’t have an under 7s team.”

At SCDF we recognise how important volunteers are to the running of these programmes and without people like Mark involved clubs would struggle to survive. So from SCDF we say thank you Mark Costello for the impact you are having at Clock Face Miners.
