Veterans of the Foundation remember during VE Day
Earlier on today, we marked the 80th anniversary of VE Day with a special service.
VE Day stands for Victory in Europe Day. It marks the day when Nazi Germany officially surrendered to the Western Allies, ending the Second World War in Europe.

The event was also marked by the club. Alongside Veterans of the Saints Community Development Foundation, and friends of St Helens Cemetery, the Saints First Team and coaching staff were joined by Club staff and representatives from across our various teams and departments.
The event led by St.Helens’ Club Chaplain and Wellbeing Manager Paul Johnson was in remembrance of those who fought for our freedom, and the millions of people who sadly made the ultimate sacrifice to bring peace.
In remembrance and to honour all who served during the Second World War ❤️

Following that event, our Veterans headed back to the Thompson Centre for a Veterans of the Foundation event. The Veterans have breakfast every Thursday at the venue, with today being a day to remember those we lost 80 years ago.
You can find out more information about the Veterans of the Foundation on our website here.
We will remember them.
