Rugby League Development

DEVELOPMENT CAMPS

England Talent Pathway Development Camps, in partnership with Y Sports, sees a variety of different rugby training sessions designed specifically to develop skills of those aged 11 –16.

The camps are widely popular within the borough and are ideal for those who are interested in developing their skills.

The camps are open access to all, regardless of playing experience or ability. The wider ETP programme supports player development and includes a coach, teacher and parent education programme which helps to create complete learning environments within the community game.

GIRLS DEVELOPMENT SESSIONS

Girls rugby league development sessions designed specifically to develop skills of those aged 10 –15.

The camps are widely popular within the borough and are ideal for those who are interested in developing their skills or even for those who would like to start with the all-important basics.

The camps are open access to all, regardless of playing experience or ability.

The Club also has a hugely successful Women’s team side, alongside a u19s squad that has been developed over the past couple of years! Click here for more information.

RUGBEES

Earlier on this year, we started up a new programme called RugBees, designed to get girls aged between 7 and 11 involved in Rugby League.

St Helens and England Captain, Jodie Cunningham, was part of the brains behind the operation, she is one of several St Helens Women stars who have shown their support by attending at least one of the sessions that have taken place so far.

The programme will run for 20 weeks, and you can read all about it by visiting our RugBees page on our website here

MATCHDAY EXPERIENCE

Youngsters get the chance to experience the Totally Wicked Stadium pitch first hand, in one of the following ways:

  • Holding a team banner as the players make their way onto the pitch.
  • Take part in a small-sided game on the pitch.

SAINTS RUGBY CAMPS

During school holidays, SCDF have rugby camps designed for children who want to learn basic skills within the sport, whilst also having fun in a variety of games and drills throughout the day. No rugby league experience is needed!
