SCDF host first LDRL Festival!

Last Sunday, the Saints Community Development Foundation (SCDF) held its very first Learning Disability Rugby League (LDRL) Festival!

The gates opened on Sunday morning, as we welcomed Warrington, Wigan, Widnes, and Leigh to Thatto Heath for a day of Rugby League fun, with our Saints side entering three teams into the tournament, with 33 players pulling on the ‘Red V’ on the day!

The Tournament kicked off with a performance from our Saints Angels Inclusive Cheer team, who performed for our spectators and players before the Rugby action began. A huge well done to all our performers, who started the day with a bang!

Our teams then got straight into the action, with multiple games being played across the two pitches. Our team enjoyed another great day of Rugby League action, playing with their friends for the Saints!

Our LD team will now take close to a month’s break from action before their next festival, giving the team plenty of time to sharpen up their skills before their next appearance.

Once again we would like to say a huge thanks to all of our volunteers, parents, coaches, and ambassadors who continue to do brilliant things with our LDRL team, the opportunities that get presented to the side wouldn’t be possible without their work!
